1.3.3 (2026-09-15)

New Features

  • Cameras can record directly as H264 for smaller files; export and MCAP conversion can also transcode video to H264 (targeting about 6-8% of the original size) and produce ROS 2-compatible data on the device.
  • All sensors start and stop recording at the same instant, so data stays aligned.
  • New Wi-Fi hotspot patch: the device broadcasts a io-<serial>-wifi hotspot (password minnanoIO) while staying connected to its network, so it stays reachable without shared infrastructure.

Changed

  • The export pipeline is now a single step, so exports are faster.
  • The export dialog's "Skip H264 compression" is now "Skip H264 transcoding"; only MJPEG recordings are transcoded.
  • Video preview is more stable, reconnects automatically, and adjusts quality to the current network bandwidth.
  • Episode details are now a tabbed dialog, with data integrity and sensor configuration on separate pages.
  • The mobile control page no longer shows the redundant per-sensor frame-rate list.
  • Recordings longer than 10 minutes are not available for local playback yet; upload or export them first.
  • Upgrading or rolling back no longer loses settings: an upgrade keeps the settings already on the device (new items appear at their defaults), and a rollback returns to that version's earlier settings — nothing is ever deleted.
  • The device serial number is read from the device on every start instead of being stored in the config, so a replaced mainboard never keeps a stale serial.

Fixed

  • If a sensor (including the microphone) is unplugged during recording, data integrity is marked as an error with dropped frames reported.
  • If one sensor fails to initialise, it is reported as unavailable and the remaining sensors continue recording.
  • Config and recording metadata are written reliably, so they are not lost or left empty after a power cut.
  • Recording duration and time range are calculated from the frames actually recorded.
  • Export or upload failures show a localised error message in the interface.
  • Long recordings play back more reliably, with read-ahead limited and already-played content cleared.
